Police Thursday said that the cash seized from a soldier at Kushok BakulaRimpochee (KBR) Leh Airport was legal money and after verification the money was returned to bonafide owner.

Pertinently, the Leh Airport Security wing had seized Rs 12 lakh from an army soldier Bhupender Pal Singh of 175 Medium Regiment stationed at Nurala Leh from Leh Airport a couple of days ago.

The police had started investigation into the matter shortly after the seizure of the cash. A top police official from the Leh told news agency CNS that after verification about the source of money through concerned Bank, it was found that the money had been withdrawn from bonafide sources and there was nothing illegal. The official added that money has been returned to the real owner.
